West Deer EMS becomes primary ambulance service for portion of Indiana Township
Effective January 1, 2024, West Deer EMS has become an approved emergency ambulance service provider for part of Indiana Township. With the unfortunate news shared by Seneca Area Emergency Services that they were closing at the end of 2023, they recommended that West Deer EMS step in and cover their service area. We will share the primary 911 ambulance response with Lower Valley Ambulance Services. The map shows the split in coverage. Our area is marked in gray on the map.
Those residents who were subscribers with Seneca should not worry. We have grandfathered all Seneca subscribers into the West Deer subscription program. We have the most recent list of subscribers and their subscriptions were extended through the end of August 2024, when the West Deer EMS subscription year renews. The new subscription packets will be mailed to West Deer and Indiana Township Residents by the middle of June.
If you see us out and about in the community, stop and say hi! We are currently working on plans with Indiana Township Administration to be able to post an ambulance at the township building. Coming soon we’ll have a meet and greet with the residents at the Indiana Township Community Center so you can learn about us and we can answer any questions you might have.
