February is National Heart Month
Join West Deer EMS in celebrating National Heart Month! National Heart Month was established to bring awareness to heart related issues such as heart attacks and strokes. The goal is to educate the community on how to keep a healthy heart, lifestyle changes that will benefit your heart, and what do do when a cardiovascular emergency happens.

The staff of West Deer EMS designed a T shirt that helps raise awareness for heart month. The staff will be wearing these shirts in place of their traditional uniforms and we have also made them available for purchase. All proceeds will go towards helping us offer community CPR and AED training.

We will also be offering an assortment of CPR courses over the month, from hands only CPR demonstrations to Healthcare Provider CPR Certifications.
The hands only CPR demonstrations will include hands only CPR, an AED overview, and information pertaining to heart attacks and strokes. There is no fee to attend these demonstrations and we have 4 of them scheduled. We’ll also be offering a Heart Saver (layperson) CPR certification course and a BLS (Healthcare Provider) CPR certification course. These courses to have a fee associated with them.
